It was a busy weekend – from football games to bowling league to an 18-mile run to everything in between, we had a great time, but we certainly kept moving! Here’s the culinary evidence:
We kicked things off with a one-two pasta punch — dining in on Thursday night and dining out on Friday. Thursday’s meal was spaghetti and meatballs, served alongside a salad, because when one is training for a marathon, one must have all the carbs one can consume!
Saturday evening was a cookout feast, but … well. Florida State was playing, and the food was eaten in fits and starts between downs. The spread was great – Tofurky Italian sausage, baked beans, squash, stuffed peppers, beer, cheesecake, and on and on – but unfortunately, no photographic evidence remains.
On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a Florida State Victory Brunch of cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, and veggie bacon. Heaven on a plate!
Finally, on Sunday evening I whipped up a quick noodle-and-chik’n dish before dashing off to bowling league. It was evidently well-received – there wasn’t a noodle to be found anywhere after the meal was finished! Always a good sign.
And the stats for two of our four meals:
