Well, hello!
I feel like lately all I’ve been doing on this blog is apologizing for my absences. Truthfully, I’ve been in and out of town – visiting family in Florida, spending long lazy weekends out on the patio or on some of the DC area’s best trails – and thus haven’t been cooking at home as much as I’d like. Or, if I do, I run out of time to blog about it. (Speaking of, please humor some “Catching Up” posts later in the week!) The summer is like that, I suppose. Right now, we’re just going with the flow.
Tonight was my first meal at home in a full week – in the meantime, I was treated to my mother’s famous lunches and my father’s famous big breakfasts, so I really can’t complain. :) Groceries were few and far between at the house tonight, so I swung by the grocery store to pick up the makings for one of my standby meals. It was just as good as always!
The stats:
Ramen: $1.25/six ($0.10/person)
Rotel: $1.69 ($0.85/person)
Boca chik’n patties: $3.50/four ($0.88/person)
Salad: $3.99 ($2.00/person)
GRAND TOTAL: $10.43 … or $3.83 per person.
:)
