Hooray for the garden!
Our basil has finally grown big and strong enough … to be immediately cut down and tossed into a bowl as an integral ingredient in tonight’s meal, which is one of LeeLee’s specialties. It’s one of my favorites, and it’s a perfect dish for spring, when the cherry tomatoes are fresh from the farmer’s market and the basil is even fresher from the back yard!
We served the pasta with a side salad, which was topped by another homemade dressing (I took a dollop of mayonnaise, a taste of olive oil, some salt and pepper, dill from the garden, and a liberal serving of lemon juice and mixed everything together in a bowl). It was the perfect spring-to-summertime meal!
