I’d like to ask your forgiveness for the fact that I haven’t posted in the last few days; I’ve been out of town visiting family, where many kitchen goodies were made and consumed with gusto. I can’t vouch for their exact per-person price, but I have full confidence that frugality was in play for the majority of meals.
Not to say that we lacked on taste. We didn’t! From pimiento-cheese sandwiches to Dad’s world-famous breakfast to veggie burgers with salad and fries, each and every homemade meal was satisfying and tasty. But one dish stood out above the rest: Mama’s Banana Pudding.
Oh, how I love that banana pudding. My father does, too. In fact, the pudding is usually made only twice a year — for Father’s Day and Dad’s birthday. But this year, my aunt requested it as payment for hauling over some antique furniture over the weekend, and we gladly obliged.
So, without further ado (or any itemized receipts!), I give you Mama’s Banana Pudding … starring Mama! :)
